Ultralase announce strong trading results in 2010
Leading laser eye specialist, Ultralase, has announced strong trading results for 2010. Claiming to have outperformed rivals in a tough trading environment, the UK’s longest established vision correction specialist said that full year revenue jumped 5% to £42.3m compared to 2009 figures.
Ultralase has also invested heavily in clinical training and capability, which has brought an improvement in operational performance, with 99.1% of patients treated in 2010 achieving ‘driving standard’ vision, compared to 98.2% in the prior year. The company is also bullish about prospects for 2011, particularly in the Intraocular lenses (‘IOL’) sector of its business, which has seen a first quarter rise of 70% in trading activity, compared to the same period last year.
The Chief Executive of Ultralase, Tony Veverka commented, “Whilst market conditions remain challenging, our latest figures are a clear indication that the Group continues to increase market share. Our performance year on year and in the context of our competitors remains strong and is testimony to our growth strategy and continued investment in our clinical team and advanced technology”
Since launching in 1991, Ultralase has performed over 225,000 laser eye procedures, and is the only vision correction specialist to offer the highly advanced ‘Ultra Elite’ treatment, a development of the Wavefront laser eye surgery technique. Ultralase has several laser eye surgery clinics throughout the UK.
